Privacy Policy

Effective May 20, 2026.

Studio K Design ("STUDIO K.," "we," "us," or "our") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect through this website, how we use it, who we share it with, and the rights you have. We follow Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and British Columbia's Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA).

What we collect

We collect personal information only when you provide it through our contact form or when you email us directly. Specifically:

  • Contact form submissions — your name, email address, phone number (if provided), project location, project type, approximate timeline, approximate budget, and the message you write.
  • Technical security data — your IP address and browser user-agent string, captured automatically when you submit the form. We use this for spam protection and abuse prevention.
  • Standard server logs — our hosting provider keeps brief access logs (IP, time, requested URL) for security and stability. We do not actively review these unless investigating a problem.

What we don’t collect

  • We do not use marketing cookies, advertising trackers, or third-party analytics that profile you.
  • We do not sell, rent, or trade your information.
  • We do not collect payment information through this website.

How we use it

We use your information only for these purposes:

  • To respond to your inquiry and to discuss a potential design engagement.
  • To keep a record of our communications for our own files and project planning.
  • To detect and prevent abuse of the contact form (spam, automated submissions).

Who we share it with

Your information stays with us, except for the following service providers we use to operate the site:

  • Shock Hosting — our website and email host. Form submissions are stored briefly in our WordPress database and delivered to kelly@studio-k-designs.com through their SMTP servers.

We do not transfer your information to anyone else without your consent, unless required by Canadian law (for example, a court order).

How long we keep it

Inquiries you send are kept while we are in active conversation with you, and in our email archives for as long as needed for client relationship records. You may ask us to delete your information at any time (see “Your rights” below).

Cookies

This website uses essential cookies set by WordPress (for example, to remember the portfolio password during your visit). We do not use third-party tracking cookies. You can clear cookies in your browser at any time.

Your rights

Under PIPEDA and BC PIPA, you have the right to:

  • Access — request a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
  • Correct — ask us to fix information that is inaccurate or out of date.
  • Delete — ask us to remove your information from our records.
  • Withdraw consent — for any future use of your information.

To exercise any of these rights, email kelly@studio-k-designs.com. We will respond within 30 days.

Children

This website is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has submitted information through our form, please contact us and we will delete it.

Security

We take reasonable steps to protect your information, including HTTPS encryption, rate-limited form submissions, and access controls on our hosting account. No internet transmission is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute protection, but we treat your information carefully.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will post the updated version here with a new effective date. Material changes will be noted at the top of the page.
